Asian Ornamental Trees
A cherry blossom , also known as Japanese cherry or Sakura is a flower of many trees of genus Prunus or Prunus subg. They generally refer to ornamental cherry trees, not to be confused with cherry trees that produce fruit for eating. Wild species of the cherry tree is widely distributed mainly in the Northern hemisphere. In the mainstream classification in Japan, China, and Russia, on the other hand, ornamental cherry trees are classified into the genus Cerasus , which consists of about species separated from the genus Prunus , and the genus Cerasus does not include Prunus salicina , Prunus persica Peach , Prunus mume , Prunus grayana , amongst others. Many of them were different from the typical cherry tree shapes and flowers for cherry blossom viewing that people today imagine. Therefore, it is considered that the culture of viewing cherry blossoms and the production of cultivars have developed historically in Japan.

You may already have plenty of large, mature trees in your yard. However, over the years, some of your smaller plants, such as shrubs and herbaceous flowers, may have died out or just become less than lovely. Consider adding a small tree to fill the void. Small ornamental trees are generally 30 feet tall or less and can be as short as 8 to 10 feet tall. Rather than just one main trunk, quite a few of these small trees have multiple main stems.
The mountainous topography of Japan supports a wide variety of plants, with some plants thriving in hot humid summers, while others require dry conditions and heavy snowfall with a period of dormancy. These nine plants are Japanese icons that are perfect for a zen garden or lovers of Japanese culture. Japanese gardeners have been growing azaleas for centuries, prizing them for their trumpet-shaped spring flowers in shades of pink, yellow, salmon, red, violet, and white.
